For People Who've Been Told to Just Manage It

You've probably already seen a neurologist. Maybe had the nerve conduction study. Left with gabapentin or Lyrica and a follow-up in six months. What nobody said out loud is that "monitor things" usually means: don't expect this to get better.

That's not good enough.
And if you're here, you probably already know it isn't.

The burning, the numbness, the feeling that your feet don't quite belong to you anymore — these aren't just symptoms. They're changing how you sleep, how you move, and what your days look like. You deserve a real treatment plan.

At Everybody Healing Center, we use acupuncture and integrative medicine to help you get back to sleeping through the night, walking without bracing for every step, and living without neuropathy defining the day.

Find out if acupuncture is a good fit for your neuropathy.

What Our Patients Say

“Dr. Christopher Johnson is amazing! [...] I've been in chemotherapy treatment for 3 months with another 3 months to go. Christopher has helped me immensely for all of the side-effects I've been dealing with including nausea, neuropathy, headaches and a recent bout of reactive arthritis. I have also started a Chinese herb regimen which was carefully formulated in conjunction with the medication I take for the chemo treatment. I've seen other Chinese Medicine Doctors over the past 15 years, and our paths happened to cross last summer when I had an acupuncture session with him for the first time thanks to a long-time mutual friend. I could not imagine going through this cancer treatment without the incredible help, attention and bedside manner of Dr. Johnson and his peaceful clinic!” – Greg M.

Types of Neuropathy We Commonly Treat

Peripheral neuropathy has many causes, and symptoms can look different for everyone. No matter the cause, we treat neuropathy based on how it’s showing up in your body, not just the label attached to it.

Neuropathy in the Feet

Burning, numbness, tingling, or that sensation of walking on gravel. Treatment for neuropathy in feet is one of the most common presentations, and one of the most disruptive to daily life.

Diabetic Neuropathy

One of the most common complications of diabetes and one of the most undertreated. If you've been told it's just part of managing the condition, we'd like to offer a different conversation.

Idiopathic Neuropathy

No diagnosis, but real symptoms. The TCM framework treats based on the pattern your body is showing, not a named cause.

Alcohol Neuropathy Treatment

Nerve damage from long-term alcohol use can be addressed, and improvement is possible. You won't be lectured here.

Carpal Tunnel & Compression Neuropathies

Nerve compression in the wrist, elbow, or elsewhere responds well to treatment that addresses both the local compression and the broader pattern driving it.

Post-Surgical Nerve Damage

Nerve irritation following surgery can linger well beyond the expected recovery window. Acupuncture for nerve damage can help support the healing process when rehab has stalled.

Neuropathy Related to Autoimmune Conditions

Lupus, Sjögren's, and similar health conditions frequently involve peripheral nerve symptoms. We work alongside your existing care team throughout.

ChemoTherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy (CIPN)

CIPN doesn't always resolve after treatment ends. We provide acupuncture for chemo neuropathy for cancer survivors and patients currently in treatment, always in coordination with your oncology team.

Don't see yours listed? Let's talk.

How We Treat Peripheral Neuropathy

There's no single protocol here because neuropathy isn't a single condition. What we use depends on how your symptoms present, what's driving the patterns, and how your body responds. What we lean on depends on what we're seeing, but treatment options may include:

Acupuncture

Acupuncture for neuropathy stimulates specific points to calm nerve hypersensitivity, improve circulation, and support nervous system regulation, helping reduce burning, improve sensation, and restore function over time. For neuropathy patients, treatment is gentle and builds progressively.

Electro-Acupuncture

Electroacupuncture adds a gentle, low-frequency electrical current between needles to enhance stimulation directly along nerve pathways. There's solid research behind electroacupuncture for treating neuropathy, particularly for diabetic neuropathy. Studies have shown it actually improves how nerves conduct signals.

Chinese Herbal Medicine (TCM)

Herbal formulas support your body systemically. Chinese medicine for neuropathy can improve circulation, reducing inflammation and helping regulate the systems that affect how nerves function and recover.

Benefits of Neuropathy Treatment

Every patient's experience is different, and we don't promise outcomes we can't stand behind. While the effects of acupuncture vary, clinical studies and our neuropathy patients commonly report these benefits over the course of treatment:

  • Reduced burning, tingling, and hypersensitivity in affected areas

  • Improved sensation and circulation to the feet and hands

  • Better sleep; nerve pain at night is real and worth treating directly

  • Improved balance, steadiness, and confidence in movement

  • Greater daily function; walking, standing, doing things that matter

  • Support for reducing reliance on medications like gabapentin

  • A treatment plan that adjusts as your symptoms change

Why Choose Everybody Healing For Neuropathy Treatment

We provide practical care focused on real improvement.

At Everybody Healing Center, we specialize in complex, long-standing cases. Most of our neuropathy patients come to us after other treatments haven’t worked. We can work alongside your neurologist, endocrinologist, or oncologist. And since your body changes, your treatment plan does too. We reassess regularly and adjust as you progress.

Licensed Acupuncturist | Doctor of Chinese Medicine | Master of Acupuncture

Dr. Chris came to acupuncture the same way many of his patients do — by needing it. After years of chronic pain and neurological symptoms following a serious accident, he found meaningful relief through acupuncture when nothing else had delivered it. That experience shapes how he approaches every nerve-related case he sees.

FAQs

Learn more about our acupuncture services or call us to find answers to your questions.

Can acupuncture help neuropathy?

For many patients, yes. Clinical research supports acupuncture's use for several types of peripheral neuropathy, particularly diabetic and chemotherapy-induced. Results depend on cause, duration, and your individual situation. We're direct about what's realistic for you, and the consultation is the right place to have that conversation.

Can acupuncture help with neuropathy in the feet?

Foot neuropathy is one of the most common presentations we treat. Burning, numbness, tingling, or that uneven-ground feeling responds well to acupuncture and electroacupuncture in many patients. Acupuncture for neuropathy in feet targets points along the lower leg, ankle, and foot based on your specific symptom pattern and what's driving it.

Can acupuncture help with diabetic neuropathy?

There's meaningful clinical research in support of acupuncture for diabetic neuropathy, including studies showing significant improvements in nerve conduction velocity and reductions in pain and sensory symptoms. We treat diabetic neuropathy regularly and stay in contact with your endocrinologist or primary care provider throughout, so your whole care team is aligned.

What if my neuropathy has no known cause?

Idiopathic neuropathy is more common than most patients realize. The TCM framework doesn't require a Western diagnosis. Treatment is based on the pattern your body is showing. Not having a named cause doesn't mean there's nothing worth treating.

Does Medicare cover acupuncture for neuropathy?

Coverage varies by plan and condition, and guidelines change, so the most accurate answer to this question will come directly from Medicare. We can run a courtesy benefits check at your initial visit so you know exactly where you stand before committing to anything.

Is acupuncture safe alongside my current neuropathy medications?

Generally yes. We review your full medication list during intake, address timing of any herbal medicine relative to your prescriptions, and stay in communication with your prescribing providers.

How many sessions does neuropathy treatment take to see results?

It depends on how long symptoms have been present and what's causing them. Some patients notice early shifts within a few sessions. Long-standing neuropathy requires consistency — changes accumulate. We'll give you a realistic picture at your first visit.

What is the difference between electroacupuncture and TENS therapy?

TENS delivers surface-level electrical stimulation to block pain signals at the skin. Electroacupuncture delivers low-frequency stimulation through needles at specific acupuncture points, affecting nerve pathways more directly and through different physiological mechanisms.

Will Acupuncture Cure My Neuropathy?

We won't tell you it will. Whether neuropathy is fully reversible depends on its cause, duration, and factors specific to your health. What we can say honestly: meaningful improvement in symptoms, function, sleep, and daily life is achievable for many patients — and for most people dealing with neuropathy, that's the goal worth working toward.
